Message from the CEO

The financial crisis of 2008 that rocked the global economy prompted major changes to the lineup of players in the finance industry, as well as the state of the industry itself.

Demand for the sophisticated financial technologies provided by investment banks, however, has not changed. Companies need investment banking services, perhaps now more than ever, and for this reason, investment banks maintain a key presence in financial markets despite corporate restructuring and industry realignment.

FGI specializes in structured finance. We utilize securitization and other sophisticated financial techniques to facilitate fund procurement for our clients, and interest in these methods appears to be growing, regardless of changes in the economic environment.

FGI has executed many financial arrangements, and to date, the focus has been on debt financing, particularly project financing and non-recourse loans from financial institutions. The current environment calls for enhanced capabilities to better address evolving client needs and a growing client base. Specifically, we must deal with the diverse financial requirements of growth companies as well as a broader spectrum of clients seeking to raise funds—a base that now includes municipal corporations. We must also provide appropriate investment opportunities to clients with funds for application and new choices to financial institutions at home and abroad as well as other domestic and international investors, especially pension funds and private banks, looking to invest available capital.

Expectations are rising, primarily because our expertise in financial arrangements can be used to match clients seeking funds with clients willing to supply those funds. Clients on both sides of the financing coin need FGI.

Toward this end, we will augment our ability to create fund-procurement methods underpinned by core capabilities in structured finance, and we will maximize access to our own investor network to efficiently attract capital from diverse sources for use in financial arrangements.

Through these efforts, we will cement our position as a boutique investment bank that supports the financing needs of companies in all industry sectors.
